Nicolas
I took my first steps on ice at the age of four in my home town Nancy, in the east of France. I was lucky. The ice skating rink was close to my parents work and I was able to go there every evening after school.
I quickly got into the sport. It required perseverance despite falls and injuries. It required trying new jumps, turns and movements and then repeating them over and over until I got them right.

By this time, skating had become more serious as I started entering competitions, my first ones being the French regional championships. I liked competing. It pushed me on to improve even further.
By 17, my body and muscles had developed and I discovered 'pairs' skating which really appealed to me because of its unique mix of sport and acrobatics. I progressed in this, representing the French National Team with my partner Sabrina Lefrancois in the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan.

A knee operation last year kept me off my skates and I watched the entire season from the sidelines...on television.
At the start of this year, Marie Pierre asked me to partner her in the 'pairs' competition and we started working together. We now train five hours per day and are looking forward to the upcoming season with a special new program.
See you out there.
